The Doctoral School of Health and Life Sciences (SVS) groups together all of the University of Bordeaux's biology and health research units, and organises doctoral training for more than 400 PhD students focused on its 12 research specialisations.

The Doctoral School of Health and Life Sciences is also partnered with specialised laboratories in the fields of biology and the medical sector renowned for their expertise in fundamental and applied research.
It also participates in various international networks such as OENOTIVI in oenology and viticulture, which groups together more than 40 international academic and industrial partners. It is also part of the European Neuroscience Campus (ENC-Network) which combines advanced specialisation courses in neuroscience and high-quality academic training.
