PhD student representatives

Your representation on the Graduate Research School committee and on the committee of your respective doctoral schools plays an essential role in shaping and improving your doctoral experience. Discover how you can take part and represent your interests as a member of the university community.

PhD STUDENT representatives on the Graduate Research School committee

The doctoral representatives on the Graduate Research School committee are elected by indirect ballot. A titular member and a substitute are appointed for each doctoral school to take part in meetings.

PHD STUDENT representatives on the doctoral school committees

Each doctoral school has its own election procedure, including provisions for substitutes and parity. Elections can take place in person or electronically. Dates and deadlines vary according to each doctoral school.

Doctoral School of Mathematics and Computer Science

The representatives of the PhD students on the doctoral school's Council will be renewed. 

Elections will be organised from 31 March to 2 April via ADUM.

To be elected for 2024-2025:

  • 1 representative of each gender in Mathematics
  • 1 representative of each gender in Computer science

For each PhD student representative, a substitute member is elected under the same conditions as the titular. They are elected for a period of 12 months (renewable). All voters regularly registered on the electoral lists are eligible.

Voting process:

  • Voting is dematerialised by ADUM. You will be able to vote from your personal space from March 31, 2025 (9 a.m.) to April 2, 2025 (12 p.m.).
  • The electoral lists will be posted from March 11. They will be available for consultation at the Doctoral School of Mathematics and Computer Science at the LaBRI (building A30 - 1st floor - 351 cours de la Libération – Talence)
  • If necessary, a computer can be made available to you at the doctoral school (contact the doctoral school: 05 40 00 87 07)

Applications: submission from 11 to 18 March 2025

  • Applications must be sent to the doctoral school from March 11 to March 18, 2025 (5 p.m.) by mail, email or by depositing them at the office 164 at the LaBRI.
  • Reminder: all PhD students in the "pure mathematics", "applied mathematics" and "computer science" specialties registered on the electoral lists (registered at the doctoral school for the 2024-2025 academic year) are eligible.
  • Each list is composed alternately of one candidate of each gender. To be admissible, the list must include a number of candidates equal to the number of titular and substitute seats to be filled. The submission of a candidate must be accompanied by that of his or her substitute.

Doctoral School of Economic Sciences, Management & Demography

4 titular members and 4 substitutes are elected.

  • The doctoral community elects 4 PhD students from the 3 schools: Economics (2 representatives), Management (1 representative), Demographics (1 representative).
  • For each representative, a substitute is elected in the same conditions as the titular member. Representatives are elected for a period of 24 months.
  • Voting takes place as follows:
    1. Submission of candidacies
    2. The day of the election, voting is from 9am to 5pm in the office of the doctoral school
    3. The president announces the results

Doctoral School of Chemical Sciences

4 titular members and 4 substitutes are elected.

  • The director of the doctoral school takes note of the interest shown by PhD students for the elections during the first meeting of the academic year.
  • The elections take place electronically.

4 titular members and 4 substitutes are elected.

  • Doctoral representatives are elected each year.
  • Candidates are elected by a first-past-the-post system.
  • Parity is taken into account in the distribution of seats.
  • Voting can take place in person or electronically.

Doctoral School of Society, Politics and Public Health

PhD students are represented by five pairs of thesis specialties (one titular member and one substitute member):

  • Education and training sciences - Physical and sporting activity sciences and techniques (STAPS)

  • Sociology - Ethnology specialising in social and cultural anthropology

VIAUD Félix, titular member and MARTIN Morgane, substitute member

  • Political science - Political science specialising in political economy - Language, languages, cultures, society

AUQUE PALLEZ Ysé, titular member and LE FLANCHEC Lola, substitute member

  • Public Health - Pharmacology

KAYEMBE MULUMBA Blondy, titular member and FAURE Léa, substitute member

  • Psychology - Cognitive Sciences

MARIE Vincent, titular member and RAYSSEGUIER Camille, substitute member
 

Mandates and missions of PhD student representatives:

  • Participation in the doctoral school's extended Bureau: once a month (every 1st Wednesday) or more if necessary. Meetings enable regular updates on the doctoral school's activities and the needs expressed by PhD students, discussion of existing or planned measures to improve practices where necessary, and examination of financial support/communication/conferences.
  • Meetings of the doctoral school's Council: at least 3 times per academic year, with a speaking slot on the agenda.

PhD students representatives are elected for a two-year term starting January 1, 2025.

Doctoral School of Law

4 titular members and 4 substitutes are elected.

  • PhD students elect their representatives for a period of 30 months.
  • Voting takes place online via the PhD platform ADUM.

Doctoral School of Health and Life Sciences

  • Elected representatives sit on the doctoral school's committee for one year.
  • They help organise the doctoral school's selection process (concours) and events taking place on the first day of the academic year.
  • Candidacies can be submitted by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt, or by email, addressed to the president of the university. Download the form here.
  • Each list of candidates is based on equal representation and must alternate between a male and female candidate on each line. To be admissible, the list must include a number of candidates equal to the number of seats available for titular members and substitutes. The candidacy of a titular member must be submitted with that of their substitute.
  • Lists must be submitted with:
    • the original copy of the individual declaration of candidacy signed by each candidate, stating their ranking on the list,
    • a photocopy of their student card or of their certificate of enrollment.
