The University of Bordeaux partnered up with the China Scholarship Council in 2013, and has since coordinated calls for applications to welcome Chinese students who wish to pursue their PhD in Bordeaux.
The China Scholarship Council (CSC) is a non-profit organisation affiliated with the Chinese Ministry of Education. Its aim is to provide financial assistance to Chinese citizens who wish to pursue their PhD abroad.
Each year, the Graduate Research School puts out a call for applications to welcome Chinese students to the University of Bordeaux for a period of 36 or 48 months.
The call takes place in 2 stages:
All topics must be validated by the Security and Defense Officer, regardless of the academic field or research unit.
Topic proposals for the 2025 campaign will be published soon.
The list of topics open to applications is available on the ADUM platform, accessible via the access button below.
Candidates must choose a topic and contact the thesis supervisor in charge of the project to arrange an interview. The successful candidate must then submit their application to the affiliated doctoral school. If their application is approved, they will receive a conditional admission letter from the University of Bordeaux which they will use to submit their application to the CSC.
The application period for 2025 will open in December.
