China Scholarship Council (CSC)

The University of Bordeaux partnered up with the China Scholarship Council in 2013, and has since coordinated calls for applications to welcome Chinese students who wish to pursue their PhD in Bordeaux.

The China Scholarship Council (CSC) is a non-profit organisation affiliated with the Chinese Ministry of Education. Its aim is to provide financial assistance to Chinese citizens who wish to pursue their PhD abroad.

Each year, the Graduate Research School puts out a call for applications to welcome Chinese students to the University of Bordeaux for a period of 36 or 48 months.

The call takes place in 2 stages:

  • Topic submission: aimed at teacher-researchers at the University of Bordeaux wishing to submit a project with a view to recruiting a Chinese candidate within the framework of the CSC.
  • Applications: Chinese candidates can apply for certain pre-defined doctoral projects.
