As PhD students, it is crucial for you to be aware of the resources available to help you cope with potential difficulties or serious problems (conflicts, harassment, etc.).
At the University of Bordeaux, there are several people you can contact for support.
Your primary contacts at the university are your laboratory director and doctoral school board. Doctoral schools' administrative officers are also contacts who are easy to reach. You can turn to them in the event of conflict, harassment or any other type of problem.
If you would rather talk to other PhD students, the elected representatives from the different doctoral schools can also be contacted.
A PhD programme includes regular meetings with your individual Thesis Committee (CSI). The meetings provide an opportunity to voice your concerns to people who have an impartial view of the overall PhD process. You may also contact a member of your thesis committee outside of the annual meeting if problems arise during the year.
