After being trained during 3 sessions in writing and public speaking in January and February organized by the Graduate Research School, 16 PhD students were selected to participate in the final of the "My Thesis in 180 Seconds" competition at the university, which took place this Friday, March 15th at the Agora du Haut-Carré in Talence, with the presence of nearly 170 high school students.

Discover the 4 university finalists

  • 1st prize of the jury: Margaux Izac, PhD student in cognitive sciences
    • Cognitive training by neurofeedback-EEG for athletes' performance: an interdisciplinary user-centered approach (Bordeaux Population Health (BPH))
  • 2nd prize of the jury: Juliette Tran, PhD student in ergonomics of activity
    • Socio-ecological transition in local authorities: an organizational work (Laboratory for Material Integration into Systems (IMS) - Complex Systems Ergonomics Team)
  • 3rd prize of the jury: Julian Bruneau, PhD student in geology
    • Study and characterization of superficial or deep gravitational instabilities in the Pyrenean context. (Institute of Mechanics and Engineering Laboratory (I2M))
  • Audience and high school students' prize: Seyta Ley-Ngardigal, PhD student in cell biology
    • A "mitocentric" vision of cutaneous glucose homeostasis (Rare Diseases Laboratory: Genetics and Metabolism (MRGM))

These 4 PhD students will compete for the jury title and the audience prize of the regional grouping on Tuesday, March 19th with candidates from La Rochelle, Pau, and the University of Bordeaux Montaigne. These two candidates will then participate in the national semi-final which will take place in Paris from March 29th onwards.
