The University of Bordeaux thesis prizes are organized each year by the Graduate Research School and are awarded by a jury of experts. This competition is open to PhD graduates who defended their theses during the previous year. The aim is to honour outstanding theses in four main scientific fields.

The Humanities and social sciences award was awarded to Théo LAMAGNERE (Doctoral School of Economic Sciences, Management and Demographics) for his thesis on the following topic: "Emerging countries, monetary policy autonomy and dynamics of international reserves" and supervised by Sophie BRANA and Delphine LAHET.

The Science and technology award was awarded to Florent MONIE (Doctoral School of Chemical Sciences) for his thesis on the following subject: "Strategies for the elaboration of sustainable self-blownpolyurethane foams based on the decarboxylation of cyclic-carbonates", and supervised by Henri CRAMAIL and Christopher DETREMBLEUR.

The Biology-health-environment award was awarded to Paula GOMEZ SOTRES (Doctoral School of Health and Life Sciences) for her thesis on the following subject: "The role of astroglial cells in the social transmission of stress" and supervised by Giovanni MARSICANO and Jaideep BAINS.

The Special international jury award was awarded to Sarah JOIRET (Docotral School of Physics and Engineering) for her thesis on the following subject: "Constraining the origin of Earth’s volatiles with dynamical simulations and isotopic measurements of noble gases in meteorites", and supervised by Sean RAYMOND.
Florent, Paula, Sarah and Théo will be invited to present their research works to new PhD students at the PhD Welcome Ceremony at the beginning of the academic year.
