The "Scientific Game Jam" is a team event aimed at creating a video game over the course of a weekend. Each game is developed in close collaboration with a PhD student to create a game based on their research topic, alongside game designers, graphic artists, musicians, and developers. Mentors will assist teams in realizing their projects throughout the weekend.
You can find some examples of the association's team creations from recent years here.
The event will take place entirely online on Gather Town, from Friday, March 22nd at 6 pm to Sunday, March 24th at 6 pm. For this edition, participants are invited to the Before event on Wednesday, March 20th at 6 pm, to meet the scientists and participate in speed dating with them.
The results of the Online edition will be announced on Wednesday, April 10th at 7 pm, on Gather Town.
A jury composed of four researchers, science communicators, and video game professionals will evaluate the games based on criteria of scientific, educational, and gaming interest.
