    Summary

The research focuses on defining juror impartiality and on the procedural safeguards designed to ensure it, aimed at preventing any undue interference with the free formation of the jurors' inner conviction. Subjectivity, when it exposes jurors to the gaze of others—whether in the courtroom or in the context of a highly publicized trial—increases the risk of a lack of subjective impartiality which, if not properly controlled, would undermine their duty of impartiality.
